|05:13 pm - More DN Drabbles - theme cards|
Yes, so when I actually had the opportunity to sleep this weekend, I went and stayed alternately reading fic and studying for my organic chem test. >___>; And then at about 1 in the morning, I felt compelled to write some DN because, well, DN is so totally love. Sorry, shukuun, I didn't get around to your requests, but considering one of them was 'procrastination,' doesn't this kind of count? XD;
No real title. There are two drabbles that can be read separately or together, but in no particular order. Enjoy!
When Matsuda had proposed a break and took out his cards, he never saw the deviously calculating look from L or the sudden manic gleam in Raito’s eyes. If he had, his survival instincts (the ones which got him through the Academy relatively unscathed) would have kicked in, telling him to burn the damn deck and bring out another pot of caffeinated goodness because, men, we’re pulling another all-nighter for the sake of justice!
Unfortunately, the young detective had been distracted by Misa’s loud exclamations of “I want to sit next to Raito!” and missed his opportunity of escape entirely.
L took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, silently, his agitation well hidden behind a mask of nonchalance and cake crumbs. He’d never faced an opponent so masterful at the art of cunning and deceit before. Every bluff he made was called. Every hand he played, destroyed. Yagami Raito. Just what does he see that I don’t?
Across the table, the Raito smiled and looked at his opponent. More correctly, he seemed to be looking beyond L, which chilled older man to the core. After a few moments, the smile deepened and he pinned L with a stare.
And because nothing is complete without some crack, OMAKE:
“Four-ten, off-suit,” Ryuuku announced, floating lazily behind L. The apple would be worth it later.
Oh my gosh, this is such a late reply. I'm sorry!!
Thanks for reading! Haha, yes, the pair of them are such sore losers. XD I love the rivalry.
